The Great Old Ones

The Great Old Ones Reimagine Jean-Michel Jarre’s “Second Rendez-Vous”French Lovecraftian black metal band The Great Old Ones have unveiled a unique take on Jean-Michel Jarre’s legendary composition “Second Rendez-Vous.” This atmospheric and blackened reinterpretation is featured as a bonus track on the collector’s edition of their latest album, Kadath.Originally envisioned as a space-bound musical piece, Jarre’s composition became a tribute to the Challenger astronauts. Now, The Great Old Ones infuse it with their signature eerie soundscapes, blending ominous whispers and intense black metal elements, transforming it into a dark odyssey.Their album Kadath, inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, takes listeners through Randolph Carter’s surreal and perilous journey across the Dreamlands. The album has received high praise, described as an immersive and unsettling cosmic experience.Recorded at Studio Sainte-Marthe in Paris, Kadath showcases the band’s evolution, delivering a haunting mix of raw aggression and somber beauty. This Gift Is A Curse

Descending from the dark depths of Stockholm, THIS GIFT IS A CURSE is a force forged in the fires of black metal and crushing doom, dragging listeners into an abyss where light dares not tread. Since their cursed inception, they’ve built a legacy on the bones of the forgotten and the damned. Their latest album, HEIR, is a true storm of human suffering and dark beauty. Recorded in the mysterious confines of Overlook Studio under the watchful eye of producer William Blackmon, each track stands as a brutal testament to the band’s relentless pursuit of extremity. From the slow-burning intensity of „VOID BRINGER” to the soul-crushing depths of „SEERS OF NO LIGHT,” HEIR is a journey into the void that resides within us all. Mastered by Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios, the album’s sonorous dread is fully realized, delivering a sonic apocalypse that only the bravest souls can endure.
